Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
TraderGenie ("we", "us") is a financial decision-support platform. This policy describes what personal data we collect from visitors and signed-in users, why we collect it, and how you control it.
2. Data we collect
- Email address — when you subscribe to the newsletter or join the waitlist. Stored in Amazon SES (our email provider) and our own database.
- Account profile — once you accept an invite: name (optional), preferences, watchlists you create, alerts you configure.
- Usage analytics — anonymous, aggregated pageviews via Plausible (cookieless, GDPR-compliant). No personal identifiers collected.
- Server logs — IP address, request path, status code, user-agent. Retained 30 days.
- Error reports — when something goes wrong, we capture an error trace via Sentry. Personal data is scrubbed before transmission where possible.
3. How we use it
- To deliver the newsletter and any alerts you've configured.
- To run the platform: store your watchlists, compute signals, manage your account.
- To improve the product (aggregate, anonymous trends).
- To respond when you contact support.
4. Who we share it with
We share only what's necessary for the service:
- Amazon SES — transactional and newsletter email delivery (operated by Amazon Web Services).
- Plausible Analytics — cookieless traffic metrics.
- Cloudflare — CDN, DDoS protection, TLS termination.
- Sentry — error monitoring.
We do not sell or rent your data. We do not run ad networks. We do not enrich your data with third-party data brokers.
5. Where data lives
Primary storage is on servers we operate. Email delivery via Amazon SES (region depends on the verified identity — currently EU/US). Analytics via Plausible (EU-hosted). CDN via Cloudflare (global edge).
6. How long we keep it
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
- Account data: while your account is active. Soft-deleted 90 days after deletion request, then permanently removed.
- Server logs: 30 days.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU / UK / EEA you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (right to be forgotten).
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to processing or restrict its scope.
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8. Cookies
No tracking cookies. A single session cookie keeps you logged in. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
9. Children
TraderGenie is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you become aware that a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
If we materially change this policy, we publish a new version at /legal/privacy/v2 (or later) and email subscribers before the new version takes effect. Prior versions remain accessible at their version URLs.
